Title: My Purpose February 20, 2017
Author: Robert Porter
My purpose in life is to do the will of God as called for in my life. But it would take some time to come to a full understanding of that purpose, a calling as God’s servant to come called Elijah, called to restore truth and to prepare the way for His return back to the earth, just as John the Baptist as His servant Elijah prepared the way before Him 2,000 years ago, in that day when the Lord God Almighty suddenly came to His holy Temple in the flesh and blood body of the Lord Jesus Christ. Anointed as the Christ by the Spirit of the Lord. So to make myself known as His servant Elijah in this day, is…“My Purpose.”
“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi 3:1, KJV).
This prophecy was given to Malachi about 400 years before Jesus was born, before God came to this Temple. We now know that John the Baptist was the messenger that prepared the way before Him, His servant Elijah in that day, and Jesus was the Messenger of the covenant, His holy Temple.
God spent many years building that House that became His Temple by sending ministering spirits to Jesus’ heart (angel) named Emmanuel, in order for this angel to make Jesus ready for that day when God would suddenly come to Him. When Jesus went to the Jordan River to be baptized by John, the living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, suddenly came to His holy Temple.
Most everyone is familiar with this phrase allegedly spoken by Jesus:
“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” (John 2:19).
But few understand that it was God speaking those words from His holy Temple, not Jesus. That’s because most people don’t understand what it means to prophesy. That when a man is prophesying, it is not the man that is speaking, but the spirit speaking through that person’s flesh and blood body. In this case, it was the Lord God Almighty, a Spiritual Creature created by the Father, speaking those words about His Temple.
God said to Jesus’ disciples from this Temple when it was time for Him to return to the Father:
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 4:3, KJV).
This day that I have been called to prepare the way for, the great and dreadful day of the Lord, is that day when God will return again to receive them to Himself. That where He is today, in heaven with the Father, they will be also. And Jesus will Shepherd their souls as they wait as joint-heirs with Jesus to inherit the Kingdom of our heavenly Father for His millennial reign of peace.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:” (Malachi 4:5, KJV).
I was called of the Father from the womb to fulfill this prophecy, chosen of the Lord and given in marriage to the angel Elijah when I was a child to fulfill it. I was 43 before the Spirit began to reveal any of this to me. This is when the Holy Spirit became my Teacher, a great Tutor sent to me by my Father the King in the living God.
I study the Bible every day, while doing my morning business, and then I make time for the Spirit to come to me to teach me to understand what I had just read. I do what God commanded us to do when He was One with the Son of Man: “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God.” And the Spirit feeds my soul with living words from heaven to help me understand. Words from God the Father, the living God and Jesus.
This is an example of how the Spirit has taught and continues to teach me. October 2, 1996, the Spirit revealed that I was God’s servant Elijah. In my efforts to understand, I would read some of the Bible each morning, beginning from Genesis to Revelation, starting over when I reached the end. Then when I would go outside to pray in the Spirit before I left home, the Spirit would teach me to understand what I had just read by asking me questions.
I had read the 14th chapter of the book of John on this morning, where God was revealing to Jesus’ disciples that He was getting ready to return to the Father, and Philip asked Him to show them this Father that He was always talking about? It was God rather than Jesus who said:
“Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?” (John 14:9, KJV).
To open my mind to understand, the Spirit asked:
“What did God mean when He indicated to Philip that He had been with him for a long time? In essence, from the beginning?” The Spirit went on to answer the question for me. “Remember,” the Spirit went on to explain, “when God laid down His life in heaven with the Father, and came to the earth to walk as One with His Father’s only begotten Son to be born of a woman, Philip was one of the twelve apostles that He chose to follow the Lamb. It was Philip who called Nathanael under the fig tree, remember?”
“Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” (John 1:45, KJV).
“God who is a Spirit,” the Spirit continued to teach me, “was watching as Philip called Nathanael under the fig tree. And as they approached Jesus who was over here, God who is a Spirit who had been over there watching, began to speak from His holy Temple to Nate: ‘Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!’ God was trying to get Philip to understand that when it comes to the creation of this world and everything in it, including man, that He and the Father were One. And that He had been with him from the beginning of His sojourn in the earth, when He became One with His flesh and blood in Jesus.
“This is when God became flesh,” the Spirit continued, “when He laid down His life in heaven with the Father, and became One with Jesus, His flesh and blood. Anointing Jesus as the Christ by the Spirit of the Lord,” the Spirit taught me.
God and Jesus were two Lords when He came to the body of Christ. But in this day, the day I have been called to prepare the way for, the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the Lord revealed to His prophet Zechariah:
“And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.” (Zechariah 14:9, KJV), that the Lord will be One.
God revealed to Zechariah that He would be One Lord during the great and dreadful day of the Lord, which will be symbolic of when those voices of the angels of the seven trumpets in the book of Revelation begins to sound. Which means natural disasters and wars are only going to worsen and increase. But God will restore the Kingdom to Israel during this day. And Israel will never again be a divided house.
With God, all things are simple. He feels that if we love Him, then we would keep His commandments. He gave us a simple commandment to seek His Kingdom while speaking from His holy Temple:
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matt. 6:33, KJV).
Because of my calling, I was given in marriage to the angel Elijah when I was a child. Elijah is a breath of life unto my soul, but not an eternal breath of life unto my soul, for death from the land of the living will do us part. Not so with the Holy Spirit. Even today, Jesus uses the Spirit to preach to the dead. Any soul that has been born again of the Spirit, has the gift of eternal life, and death will not do us part, even while a soul is resting in paradise, or in that world to come after the resurrection from the dead.
God knew that by the time it would be time for His to return for this day, the great and dreadful day of the Lord, that the truth He preached in that day when He was One with the Son of Man, would be trampled down to the ground. Thus, Elijah the prophet to restore truth. It took me forever to understand my calling, and there was no way in hell, 20 years ago, was I ever going to say in any meaningful or forceful way that I was God’s servant to come called Elijah. Now I understand and know for certain I have no choice.
I’m blessed and extremely grateful to have a Spiritual Father in the living God, a Spiritual Grandfather in our Heavenly Father, and a Friend that is closer than a brother in Jesus. I feel as if I have heaven right here on earth. But I must admit that it feels both freaky and wonderful at the same time to communicate with Them on a regular basis through the Spirit of truth. A Spirit that is a Sword in the hands of God, but a Cross in the hands of Jesus.
My purpose for the remaining days of my life in this old world is to make every effort to do the will of God, not only as it is called for in my life, but as His will is revealed to me when I make time to pray in the Spirit. For my calling as His servant Elijah is to restore truth and to prepare the way before Him, for His return back to the earth for the last day of the latter days, the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And until that day should come when I will die from the land of the living, to do the will of God will always be… “My Purpose.”
